Emerald Mobility is an independent company supplying wheelchairs and seating from a comprehensive range.

Proprietor Tracy Barrett  is trained to carry out wheelchair and seating assessments for anything from a basic manual wheelchair to the most sophisticated powerchair.

On the left you can see Tracy’s stepson Matthew demonstrating a Nemo standing wheelchair.  This chair can be customised for Matthew’s needs. It can stand him to vertical position which will give a range of benefits including toileting needs, vital stretches, ability to stand more frequently and be able to stand in different environments, including college and socialising and increase his independence.  It also has a riser to allow Matthew to join in conversations at the same level as the people he is talking to, it has a leg lift for when he needs to change position. Matthew has Duchenne muscular dystrophy, Matthew needs regular physio and standing in a standing frame is one of the important part of his physio regime, the condition also limits the amount of movement in his hands, the chair has a range of different controller buttons and can be fitted with an omi controller which can include environmental controls around the home and also have a dongle programmed, so that the dongle can be put in a pc and Matthew would be able to use the computer using his joystick control on the chair.  We can arrange for your chair to be customised in a similar way, to suit your needs. Appearance is important, but it is correct seating and adjustment that make the difference between a chair that is just about adequate and one that makes a real difference to your comfort and well-being.  We supply a range of chairs from basic to bespoke  high rehabilitation wheelchairs.  For more information please contact us.

At Emerald, we will manage the whole process, from the assessment to the handover of your chair, providing you with great service throughout.
